Today is a dreary day out with all the talk of snow. But then I look at all the kids on the ground and they just make me smile knowing that spring is coming. And with spring comes Goat shows. I look forward to the coming show season to see if our girls have improved.
We have 4 Fort Knox's boys on the ground right now. Unfortunately for three of them they will be banded. I just will not sell bucks unless I would use them. And heaven forbid I do not need anymore bucks. I have to say when looking for replacements I look at bucks before does.
I am going to have a number of girls for sale this year as backyard milkers. Udders are not what I consider good. And I am still learning what I think is good.It will be hard for me to sell a few of these as they really are pets even thought they have a job. They have personalities and that is what will make me sad.
I wish you all a blessed weekend and please stay safe.

Spring will arrive in a few days , but it is still cold and windy here in Kansas. We are watching a little green up in the pasture but we are going to need a lot more moisture to have hay this year.
We have been having a few kids and I have to say the buck ratio is high. I sure hope the older does will give me some doe kids.  We had a very special birthday yesterday as Promiseland Fort Knox turned 10. He is still working and I am hoping the older girls are all bred. He lived with them for 4 months so I hope he managed to settle more of them. I do look out the window and see some girls with less than a girly figure so that excites me. I have a lot of fun when delivery time comes around as I am excited to unwrap the package.
Going to have some for sale this year and may have some of the older girls for sale also. If you know of a doe you like check in and see if she has kidded yet.
This picture is of Maudie watching the first Fort Knox kid to arrive. Well he is here but would of been a pretty doe. But not to be.

Holy catfish! It is snowing again. Don't like the cold but I want the moisture. Got to have hay this year. WE have 6 kids in the garage and 4 does. My spoiled rotten Weevil decided she needed to come to the garage she did not like the snow. So she is in with the others until chow time then she has to go back out.
Been working on ANDDA paper work and getting the prices for our annual  ad in Caprine news. Getting it done earlier this year.
We have a few goats for sale and we have a few that kids will have to be DNA typed. What a flipping mess this year. I keep saying I am going to get more organized and well it does not happen.
Well wishing you all a Happy Monday and stay warm

Thinking of bringing gin the does with the little babies under a week old. I guess I am as ready as you ever are. Take care my friends

Welcome

Hi and welcome to my farm. We raise Nigerian Dwarf goats and I have a hand full of chickens. I hope to increase interest in my goats and share my love of them with you all. Now we all know that life on the farm is never dull so I hope to share funny things with you.
I also do a lot of custom embroidery for show shirts, purses, totes, towels, pillow cases, quilt blocks and I also do a few custom quilts. But the custom quilts are not for the faint of heart or wallet. They are pretty expensive to have made for you but we sure will try and make you what you want.
I will share some of the more interesting flops in my cooking endeavors. I am having to learn to cook at my age and it's not going so great.
